2 students arrested after unloaded gun found on high school campus in Moreno Valley

The incident happened April 23, district spokesman Christopher Weddle said.

A student told administrators that another student had a weapon, according to a statement sent by Principal Karen Johnson. The school resource officer and Riverside County sheriff’s deputies questioned two students, and an unloaded gun was found in the trunk of a car in the parking lot, Johnson wrote.

Johnson urged parents and their children who see or hear anything unusual about campus to immediately report it to administrators or police.
