Skechers Phase II plans approved

Plans to expand the 1.8-million-square-foot Skechers distribution center in Moreno Valley by nearly half have been approved.

The Moreno Valley City Council unanimously OK’d the project Tuesday night, April 16.

The expansion was anticipated when the Skechers center was initially approved a decade ago. But plans have been altered. As a result, Highland Fairview needed — and received approval for — a general plan amendment and zone change.

Those earlier plans called for adding a 120,000-square-foot retail center and 600,000-square-foot industrial building, and instead a larger industrial structure is planned.
