MORENO VALLEY — One person was seriously injured and hospitalized after a fire erupted inside the kitchen of a home, yesterday evening, Thursday, March 21. The kitchen mishap occurred in the 30000 block of Live Oak Canyon Rd., in a rural and unincorporated area north of Moreno Valley.

About two dozen Cal Fire/Riverside County firefighters, with assistance from Redlands Fire Department and other emergency personnel, were dispatched to the residence around 8:45 p.m., after receiving reports of a fire inside the home.

When officials arrived they found a two-story, single family residence where a fire had broken out in the home’s kitchen.

One victim injured during the blaze was transported by ground to an area hospital, “with serious injuries,” Cal Fire later reported on social media. No other civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.

Officials have not specified what caused the fire and no further details regarding the victim injured in the blaze were immediately available.
