Two arrested for attempted murder

On Saturday, June 16, 2018, officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department responded to a report of an injured male near the intersection of Tabor Drive and Kernwood Drive, in the city of Moreno Valley. Officers arrived within minutes and located a 19 year-old male, suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Officers immediately began rendering first aid until lifesaving efforts were assumed by medical professionals. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was admitted with life-threatening injuries, but has since been released and is recovering.  

Further investigation revealed the assault took place near the intersection of Heacock Street and Parkland Avenue in a nearby flood-control basin commonly referred to as “Poorman’s Reservoir.”

Two suspects were identified and later arrested. This assault was the result of a previous conflict between the involved parties, all of whom knew one another. There are no outstanding suspects and there is no specific danger to the community as a result of this incident.

Reynaldo Antonio Caceres and Kewin Martinez-Castro, both 19 year-old Hispanic males from San Bernardino, are in custody; charged with attempt murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
