Diamond Valley Lake still closed
Diamond Valley Lake will remain closed until at least Wednesday, July 4, because of an algal bloom outbreak, officials said Friday, June 29.
All lake recreation has been suspended by the Metropolitan Water District since Thursday, June 21.
The situation will be reassessed Tuesday, July 3, said officials with the district, which operates the massive drinking water reservoir near Hemet. This will be the second consecutive weekend that Diamond Valley Lake will be free of boats. It’s always closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
